Terms & Condtions

TUITION

These Terms and Conditions set the guidelines, expectations, and policies for students and parents/guardians enrolled in lessons with Lee Music Studio. By enrolling in our services, you agree to the following terms.

1. SCHEDULING

  • Standard sessions are scheduled in 8-week blocks within school terms.

  • By default, sessions won't be scheduled on public holidays and school non-attendance days. If this results in a term having fewer than 8 available weeks for teaching, a reduced number of sessions will be scheduled at a pro-rata rate.

  • We are not informed of school excursions and camps, and they remain the student/parent/guardian's responsibility to inform LMS.

2. PAYMENT

  • Sessions are invoiced by the term and must be paid in full prior to the first week of teaching.

  • Second and subsequent students on the same invoice will be offered a 15% family discount.

  • Payment plans may be negotiated in individual circumstances, but all lessons must be paid for in advance.

  • Fees do not include the cost of instruments or accessories. We aim to provide as many resources as possible within the cost of tuition; however, tuition fees don't cover the cost if sheet music needs to be purchased for an individual student.

  • If payment is more than 3 weeks overdue, enrolment may be suspended.

3. CANCELLATIONS

  • Students or the parent/guardian of a student are required to give 24 hours' notice for cancellations to be eligible for make-up lessons.

  • In the case of illness or sudden family emergencies, please inform us as soon as possible and make-up lessons will be offered at Lee Music Studio's discretion.

  • If a teacher cancels, a make-up lesson will be offered, or a credit will be applied to the following term's invoice.

  • Make-up lessons will be offered at the back-end of terms with more than 8 teaching weeks.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • We strive to deliver a positive and encouraging learning environment. All students and parents/guardians are expected to treat staff and other students with respect. Inappropriate behaviour may result in lesson termination without refund.

  • Practice is an important component of any music education, and students are expected to be responsible for their own practice schedule with support from their parent/guardian. The required amount of practice isn't prescribed and may vary from student to student.

  • Students must have access to a reliable and functional instrument at home for practice. If a student doesn't, speak to us about our instrument hiring options.

  • Students are expected to arrive on time. If a student is late and a teacher is required to collect the student from their class, the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time to accommodate the next student.

5. MEDIA

  • We may take photographs, videos, or audio recordings of students during lessons for exam submission, technique and progression review. All media will be strictly for teaching purposes unless express consent is granted.

  • All media collected will be available to students and/or parents/guardians via their client resources folder.

6. TERMINATION OF LESSONS

  • If a student wishes to discontinue their enrolment, written notice of 28 days must be provided. Any lessons paid for beyond the period of notice will be refunded.

7. LIABILITY

  • Lee Music Studio and its staff are not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or loss sustained by the student or accompanying family during engagement with the business.
